EMS is the first news agency in the country based on satellite network using
latest technology in the field of communication. EMS commenced it's
activity of news agency in March 1998 from central part of India & rapidly
expanded it's dimensions to all major cities of the country. EMS has
more than 250 subscribers and it is moving with the latest technology which
works perfectly in Indian conditions. EMS has a devoted & hard
working team of reporters, journalists & technicians spread all over the
country. It delivers more than 600 news items, features, cartoons,
comments & articles etc.

No doubt, lots of changes & technological developments were seen during the
last two decades but it is noticed that opportunities for the
practical training of young journalists are shrinking day by day. Most of the
educational institutions offering journalism courses do not have
adequate facilities to provide practical experience to the young journalists
who have completed the theoretical part of the education.
EMS academy of journalism is established with a novel idea of providing
theoretical & practical knowledge of journalism simultaneously from the
day the student joins our courses. The students of EMS Academy of journalism
will have an opportunity to use the excellent infrastructure of
"Express Media Service" under the supervision of senior journalists. EMS
Academy of journalism also assures full support & guidance to the
students for placement in various media companies.

Facilities -
The academy is developing appropriate facilities for the students within its
campus. Efforts are made to develop all round personality & moral

Classroom -
The academy has well equipped classrooms with modern teaching aids.
Library -
The academy has a well organized library with a vast collection of books on
journalism, Computer, Press management, Press Law & advertising
etc. All national & local newspapers, in Hindi and English, are subscribed for
library. It also subscribes important National and international news
magazines and professional journals.
Computer Lab -
Academy has its computer lab to provide will be practical training to the
students. E-mail, Internet, LAN & multimedia facilities will be provided in
the computer lab. Students will be benefitted by using latest technology.
Seminars & Workshops -
The Academy plans to conduct seminars and workshops regularly in collaboration
with prestigious government & non-government agencies and
other govt. institutions for the benefit of its students. Discussions will be
regularly held on contemporary/burning issues to keep the thinking
process of the students alive. The seminars and workshops will be presided over
by eminent professionals and academicians. The academy
will provide and demonstrate live interaction its students with these eminent
professionals for its students. The students will be encouraged to
express their views in these programs.
Guest Lectures -
The Academy has well qualified and competent teachers as its faculty members of
the academy.They are devoted for the cause of the all-around
development of the student. There are plans to invite eminent persons of the
related areas to deliver guest lectures for the benefit of the students.
This will enable the students to gain the latest updated and in-depth knowledge
of the subject.
Study Tours -
The Academy will organized study tours will be organizes to expose the students
to various fields of professions in their respective areas of study
and to imbibe a spirit of professionalism. One study tour during the entire
course will be conducted by the Academy in which the expense is
shared by the academy as per rules.
Hostel -
The academy does not lack behind providing a home away form home to the
outstation students. The hostel is located at walking distance from
the academy and the accommodation provided are comfortable.
Courses -
EMS Academy Of Journalism presently runs the following courses -
a. Master of Journalism.
b. Bachelor of Journalism.
Enrolment -
Selected candidates will have to submit all the relevant documents like
transfer certificates, migration certificate, marksheets etc. in original. No
candidate would be permitted to pursue any other courses in any other
university while being enrolled with the academy teaching department.
Discipline -
Student must be will disciplined while being in campus. Attendance and
participation in the class activities is compulsory for each student. A
minimum of 75% attendance is mandatory in each semester. Any student falling
short of shall be barred from appearing in the examination and
in case of extremely low attendance, he/she may be expelled. Courtesy, good
moral conduct and manners are the virtues expected from the
students. Violation of discipline norms can result in rustication. The progress
of the student(s) will be communicated to the parents regularly.
Teaching Method -
Innovative and latest teaching method will be adopted as against the
conventional methods. This will include lectures, discussions, mock
sessions, internship in print etc. A number of innovative curricula, Teaching
and evaluation methods have been devised. These methods will
provide ample opportunity to the students to participate and to become more
inquisitive. It is mandatory for the students to accept changes in
curriculum, teaching methods and examination pattern.
Examination and Evaluation -
The "Makhan Lal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Vishvavidhyalaya" from
which EMS Academy of Journalism affiliated, will conduct examinations on
semester basis. Detailed manuals have been framed by the academy to conduct the
examination. Evaluation pattern is being given along with the detailed
syllabus.
